Word has reached us of the local Nobility in the Chełmno organizing themselves into an organization that is known as the 'Lizard Union.' The official intention of the union is to combat lawlessness and to protect their interests. Though the society might seem legitimate in spirit, some choose to believe their proximity to the Polish border might be a sign of them being secretly a secessionist movement.

Later, in 1410, during the Battle of Grunwald, one of the founders, Nicholas von Renys, lowered the banner of the Chełmno regiment spurring retreat. After the incident, the members of the Union were branded as traitors.
