Since its signing in 1295, the Auld Alliance has remained one of the key cornerstones in the close relations between Country and France, with both parties continuing to renew the alliance.
The time has one again arrived for both parties to renew the alliance and while our French friends remain open to continue the alliance, some advisors in the Court Title have proposed the idea that Country should seek other allies.
While France has proven to be a capable ally, it has also made Country largely beholden to the French.
