333historical_info = flavor_pap.8.historical_info Heinrich Kramer was a Dominican monk, which activities had a large impact on the treatment of witchcraft and the beginning of witch trials in central europe. After taking part in a witch trial in Ravensburg in 1482, he drafted the text of what would later become the papal bull Summis desiderantes affectibus. Kramer, remaining a controversial figure, was expelled from Innsbruck after the persecution of a local woman ended in an acquittal. During his travel to Cologne he began drafting of the Malleus Maleficarum, the Hammer of the Witches, giving him further authority in the persecution of alleged witches in the lands of the Holy Roman Empire.
