The Geheime Kabinettskanzlei would pick up their work under the cover of a postal office, giving them easy access to the mail traveling through our country.

For the sake of secrecy, the name of the office was changed multiple times before it was known as Geheime Kabinettskanzlei. The Chamber existed until 1848, when it was dissolved in the wake of the Revolutions shaking the Austrian Empire.
