While the enactment of the Edict of Nantes saw an end to religious strife in Country, it also saw the Huguenots and other religious minorities in Country gain political autonomy and power. Seeing the Crown in a stronger position than years prior, Target Character has negotiated a revised treaty between the state and the Huguenots, seeking to affirm many of the principles set forth by the Edict of Nantes, while also rescinding some of the political privileges bestowed to the Huguenots.
While under the new terms negotiated by Target Character the Huguenots and other religious minorities would still retain some power, it would lay the ground for the Crown to one day fully rescind the Edict of Nantes.
