Following growing hostilities with the Huguenots throughout France, the Court Title has petitioned Ruler Fra to enact a harsher edict. This Edict of Châteaubriant would grant further actions against followers of the heretical faiths plaguing France. Under the terms of the new edict, followers of heretical faiths would face severe restrictions to conduct business, and already existing followers would be subjected to property confiscation.
Such an extreme measure will no doubt face backlash from the Huguenots, but failing to enact the edict could also see the Clergy of France turn hostile towards the state, seeing it as unwilling to protect France against the rise of the growing heresies.
