While in the past, several aspiring and ambitious subjects of France have attempted to thwart or weaken the power of the king, they would eventually be appeased or handled when they emerged too problematic a faction for the court to handle. However, the lords of Burgundy have emerged as perhaps the most threatening challenge to Ruler Fra's authority. Having long ceased payments or honoring the calls of the court, Ruler Bur acts as an independent ruler in his/her own right. While Burgundy remains nominally, De jure lands of France, the current ruler of Burgundy threatens to undermine the political relationship between Ruler Fra and his/her subjects.
