The Great Contract
Ruler is mired in debt, no doubt caused by a lavish lifestyle and a large household to provide for. his/her cabinet is petitioning Parliament to provide an annual grant, in exchange for the Ruler Title giving up certain rights and powers.
The agreement, known as the 'Great Contract', would increase Crown income and rid it of debt. Failure to reach a financial settlement would tarnish our reputation with investors and have a detrimental effect on our future ability to raise funds.

The agreement fell through as neither King James I nor Parliament could agree to the terms.
