The talented William Shakespeare is proposing a timber-based outdoor entertainment venue be constructed on the south bank of the river Thames, to facilitate his/her many plays.
The construction itself would be mainly financed by his/her playing company, the Lord Chamberlain's Men, but the Theater's proximity to the river makes it prone to suffer damage in the event of flooding at times of particularly high tide.
