The Tale of the Marbled Ruler
Although Constantinople is no longer under Roman hands, many people believe that its last ruler was not killed in his/her final moments. Instead, through the guidance of angels and through the light of the sun setting, he/she was rescued beneath the Theodosian Walls where he/she was turned to marble. To this day no one knows if these rumors are true, but sometimes fiction can change the perception of reality.
