Monastery of Santa Maria de Sigena
The Royal Monastery of Santa María de Sigena was founded by Queen Sancha of Castile, wife of Alfonso II of Aragon, and constructed between 1183 and 1208. Although it started to decline in popularity and importance some time ago, the monastery is still a grand cloister, also hosting a beautiful collection of Romanesque frescos. The nuns are asking for us to help fund the monastery, and a local artist known as the Maestro of Sigena has offered to paint a large altarpiece.
