A blind pilgrim to the Monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat, claims that he has been cured from his blindness by the Virgin of Montserrat, lovingly called La Moreneta (the Little Dark One).
The small statue, discovered centuries ago by shepherd children, gained its nickname because its originally pale skin turned dark, probably due to the smoke of candles.
