Once an offshoot of Santa Maria de Ripoll, Santa Maria de Montserrat has become one of the most important monasteries in the realm. The place, famous as a pilgrimage site for the worship of the Virgin of Montserrat, is becoming too small for its own needs and has made the friars living in it approach us to look for a generous helping hand.
