The Root Dynasty of Country
With the death of the last member of the Askanier of Country, Henrik, in 1320, the Country Adjective lands fell in the hands of Louis, the elected Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. In order to keep the northern German territory administrated, Louis assigned the Country Adjective March to his/her son/daughter, Louis.
This is the start of the Wittelsbach era of Country. It is a time of troubles, as the Ruler Title was placed as ruler at a young age, leaving much of the government in the hands of Berthold. Robber barons, economic issues and a general discontent of the population towards their Ruler Title plague the rulership of Louis, and the Wittelsbach seem to care little for their possessions in the north...
