Tanegashima Teppō
The foreigners arriving in our lands bring with them some peculiar weapons. Recently, when two western adventurers riding on a Chinese ship were forced by a storm to moor on the island of Tanegashima in Target Location, the local fisherman were startled when one of the westerners fired his gun in the air surprised at the sight of them. The local authorities have managed to purchase those weapons from the westerners before they sailed back, and blacksmiths are already studying their production.
Although gunpowder and firearms have long been known to us, the matchlock firing mechanism of this western design is a great improvement over the Chinese hand cannons, and it will prove much more convenient to use.
