Dhimmi Building Restrictions
Under Muslim Law, non-Muslim inhabitants face a number of restrictions on the construction of new buildings in urban centers; their houses are not to be taller than those of the Muslim community, and they are forbidden from constructing new centers of worship, only to maintain those which already existed.
