The eight poets Allasani Peddana, Nandi Thimmana, Madayyagari Mallana, Dhurjati, Ayyalaraju Ramambhadrudu, Pingali Surana, Ramarajabhushanudu, and Tenali Ramakrishnudu were regarded as the eight pillars of his literary assembly. The Prabandha Age, as the age of Astadiggajsa is called, continued from 1540 to 1600 during which the court of poets was also called Bhuvana Vijayam or Conquest of the World.
