By defeating the Sultans of Bijapur, Golconda, and the Raja of Odisha, Krishna Deva Raya became the most powerful ruler of the southern peninsula of India. The king was not only an able administrator, but also an excellent general, leading from the front in battle and even attending to the wounded. Together with his Prime Minister Timmarusu, the king administered the Kingdom well, maintained peace in the land and increased the prosperity of the people.
