Coins in Our Own Name
During the later reign of Ottoman, he/she had coins minted in his/her own name, and no longer as a nominal vassal of the moribund Ilkhanids in Iran. This was a big step towards legitimacy as an independent ruler, and with the Ilkhanate now fallen, we have little to lose from continuing this practice. However, the mint in Bursa claims that they have a shortage of silver and gold, and are asking for a contribution, so they can produce greater quantities of coins with the glorious likeness of Target Character.
