We could build a Medical School in Capital Location and bring in teachers from the West as well as the East. Hardliners among the Clergy are against this idea however, claiming that it would bring dangerous, subversive influences to the Flavor Rank.

A new type of schools heavily influenced by Western medicine and tradition began to appear in the early 19th century, such as Tersâne Tıbbiyesi, the Naval Medical School, and in 1824 the Tıbhâne-I Âmire, the Imperial Medical School. Since the textbooks were mainly in French, it did not take long until non-Muslim students, who had better command of that language, became the majority of the students.
