Among his major works were the Hubanname, The Book of Beautiful Young Men, and the Zenanname, The Book of Women, and he himself certainly preferred the former, having, as he put it, no inclination towards women. But it was the Zenanname that after his death would be translated and read in Western Europe, perhaps due to the Orientalist fascination with harems.
