Tulips' End
Petrona Halil is the leader of a group of Janissaries who have gotten increasingly aggrieved by the decadence and conciliatory politics they associate with the Tulip Period. They are now marching in strength towards Target Capital, demanding the surrender of Target Character and a reversal of recent reforms. The Head Of Cabinet Name has a plan to thwart them — but to achieve it, we need to buy time. If the Ruler Title agrees to abdicate, we would appease the less ardent members of the uprising, and could then muster enough allies to kill Petrona Halil and the remaining rebels. Thus, we would at least preserve the prestige of the Flavor Rank.

For weeks, the rebels controlled the empire, forcing the abdication of Ahmed III. But the grand vizier sought the aid of the khan of Crimea and loyal Janissaries to put down the rebellion, and managed to turn the tide. Petrona Halil was killed, as was thousands of his followers. But with this violence, the Tulip Period came to its end, and a more oppressive climate took hold.
