The triumphant conquest of the turkic nomadic tribes inhabiting the steppes has propelled our eastern front several miles forward, placing us within striking range of Lower Yik. It was the first stepping stone for continued expansion eastward, and the campaign was led by Cossacks and funded by the powerful Stroganov merchant family. The conquest of the Khanate of Sibir and subsequent destruction of the last khanate followed, which allowed for the exploration and control of the vast hinterland. that would eventually see the Cossacks build cities out of their Ostrogs (simple fortifications to ensure transit) and reach the Pacific ocean at Okhotsk in 1645.
