The Tragedy of Faust
During the last months, our court artist Target Character has been working on a play inspired on the legend of Johann George Faust.
The drama narrates the story of Faust, a German alchemist, astrologer, and magician said to be so avid of knowledge and adventures that he made a pact with a demon called Mephistopheles. It tells about the pledge of the soul of doctor Faust in exchange of 24 years of service by the devil, the life of pleasures derived from it, and the eventual repentance of Faust, following his death when the demon demanded his pay.

Although the original manuscript is lost, a copy surfaced in 1886.
In 1790, the first printed appearance was Faust, a Fragment. Goethe then completed Part One in 1806, followed by its publication in 1808, and a revised edition in 1828 to 29. Faust, Part Two, completed in 1831, focuses on diverse themes like psychology, history, politics, and mystical and philosophical topics, making it the culmination of Goethe's later years. Part One and most of Part Two are written in rhymed verse and hold a prominent position on German-language stages. Regarded as Goethe's magnum opus and a masterpiece of German literature, Faust weaves a captivating tale.
