말
말은 약 6천 년 전 유라시아 스텝 지대 어딘가에서 가축화되었습니다. 이때부터 말은 다양한 작업에 사용되었는데 그중에서도 가장 중요한 용도는 전쟁이었습니다. 이런 면에서 중세 시대는 기사의 황금기였다고 볼 수 있으며 실제로 중세 시대의 기사는 봉건 사회의 발전과 밀접하게 얽혀 있었습니다.
