オスマンの大使から、遠い北部エチオピア出身の少年という、風変わりな贈り物を受け取った。かつて奴隷として働いていたこのAbram Petrovichは解放され、我々の文化を学んで将来Countryに軍人、あるいは付き人として仕えるため、宮廷で育てられることになった。Abram Petrovichは高い知性を示しているものの、基本的な教育を受けていないため、まずは読み書きを教えるのが賢明ではないだろうか。
